Building Materials and Quality
Our visitors are delighted by how this centuries-old house has been tastefully transformed into a unique property in the Harz region, using carefully selected materials. The house is nestled within a property with diverse plantings. If you would like to learn more about the house’s special history, there is a dedicated chapter later on.
Safety
The living and bedrooms are equipped with modern, sensitive, and interconnected smoke and fire detectors.
The apartment doors are fitted with a so-called “panic lock.” Even if you lock the door from the inside, you can unlock and open it in case of an emergency by simply pressing down the door handle.
Both apartments have an intercom system, allowing our guests to verify who is at the door before opening it with the release button.
Cribs and Bed Protection Bars
Children are very welcome in both apartments! Upon request, we can provide bed protection bars for the larger beds. A crib for infants is also available. Please notify us in advance if you would like these additional items. The upper apartment has a foldable wooden safety guard at the stairwell exit to prevent falls.
Smoke-Free Holiday Home
Both holiday apartments in Haus Silbererz are strictly smoke-free! We kindly ask for your understanding: Smoking inside the house is a violation of the accommodation contract and may result in significant compensation claims.
Pets
Pets are only allowed upon request from the landlord, with explicit written confirmation, and then only in the lower apartment “Bergmannstrost.” If dogs are permitted after consultation, we provide a larger woven “basket” along with a blanket and pillow.
Natural Surfaces Require Gentle Care
Our guests enjoy the many natural, breathable surfaces in the house, which provide an incomparable healthy indoor climate and wonderful aesthetics. However, these natural surfaces (natural wall paints, wooden and ceramic floors, naturally treated wooden windows, solid wood furniture) retain their beneficial properties only with gentle handling.
Heating and Hot Water
Both apartments in Haus Silbererz are equipped with a modern, energy-efficient, and low-emission condensing gas boiler for heating and hot water. Additionally, each apartment has a powerful gas fireplace that will delight our guests with its beautiful, lively flames.
Apartment-Specific Parking, Barrier-Free Access
The parking space for the barrier-free apartment “Bergmannstrost” (ground floor) is located directly to the left of the house at the west gable. It is paved with light, even granite. From here, our guests can access the house via a barrier-free ramp on the right side. All door thresholds on the ground floor, both inside and outside, are lowered and easily passable with a wheelchair.
The apartment “Morgenrœthe” also has its own reserved and marked parking space on a paved courtyard area directly next to Haus Silbererz.
Storage for Bicycles, Mountain Bikes, Skis, etc.
Our guests can store their bicycles or other sports equipment, whether brought or rented, in a lockable wooden shed, keeping them safe from rain and theft. The shed is equipped with several power outlets for charging e-bike batteries, ski boot warmers, etc.
Pleasant Views
Both apartments feature unobstructed views of a well-maintained garden property, the Glockenberg with the town’s landmark “Glockenturm,” and the surrounding hills and mountains of the Upper Harz.
Arrival and Departure, Access Codes
Your holiday apartment will be available from 4:00 PM on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, you can use the apartment until 10:00 AM. Other times may be possible upon prior personal arrangement with us.
A day before your arrival, we will send you the access codes for the front door and the internal key safes containing the apartment keys via SMS or WhatsApp. This allows our guests to check in “contactlessly” and access information about the apartments in the provided information folders.
On Request: Personal Orientation and Recommendations
However, upon request, the hosts or a property manager will personally welcome guests and provide an orientation to the many features and appliances in the apartments. In this case, we kindly ask for a brief message via SMS to the previously provided phone number about your approximate arrival time.
We are happy to provide suggestions for the best routes for arrival and departure. Since Danielstraße becomes steeper about 50 meters below Haus Silbererz, we recommend driving to the parking spaces of the holiday apartments from above (coming from the town center) and departing upwards, especially in winter.
